Thread: V7 - Uh oh.

    Default V7 - Uh oh.

Been running fine for a few months now. Today, the speed (8x600GB Velociraptors) on a PE 2950 slowed to a crawl. Not DOA, just VERY slow over 10GB NICS.

Just tried to web in and I cannot get to the web interface. Stopped and started apache.

Seems as though I make it 6 months and then something goes kaflooey on DSS.

Any ideas before I migrate everything back over to FreeNAS so I can reboot?

check the raid controller, and also check boot media. If the boot media is USB, best to change to SSD.

    Default Boot

Boot media is USB. Why is that a problem? Hasn't ever been in the past, and it's a supported config, right?

Hang on.....I got in finally and it said my version needed to be activated, randomly. I reactivated fine. And my speed returned to normal.

    Wierd. Hinkey.

Your issue of re-activation being triggered, could be a sign of failing boot media.
Yes, USB is supported, but most USB media is only good for a few years and starts to flake out, showing the behavior you describe.
