Default Failed disk warning not send

    Hello.

I'm evalutating Open-E V7 in an active/active config and all is fine so far. Only one thing I'm missing....it does not send a message if one of the discs fails.
At startup for example it mails me a message that the BBU from the controller ist failing so I think that the alerting system is working.
But if I unplug one of the discs, the raid controller (Adaptec 3405) starts beeping but no message is send. No problem if the storage is in the lab but a big problem when it will be dispatched to the datacenter.

Tried to activate SMART but this does not affect anything, seems obvious as the controller should take care of monitoring the discs.

Any suggestions why it is not sending me the messages for the failed disc?

    Thanks,
    Thomas

Is your ASM updated to the latest build?

SMART does not work with RAID controllers. See link below as to why and how to enable SMART.

For the alerts with drives on the RAID controller did you setup the email setting in the Adaptec? On the DSS you will need to setup the email alerts for events as a failover but we dont send all information from the RAID controller as the RAID controller will handle this.
    All the best,
