Thread: 100's of devices when there are really only 6

  1. #1

Default 100's of devices when there are really only 6

I just built two systems to use as storage servers. One of them went off without a hitch. The other one when I go to setup the SW raid finds 100's of device identifiers at the bottom of the screen but never presents any at the top of the screen to make a raid from. Is there a way to exclude all of the bogus devices so the valid ones come up to be used?

Is this local storage, or accessed from a HBA?
maybe if you can give us some screenshots it may help.

It is local storage. Just a stack of 6 SSD Drives connected to the sata bus. When I go into the console Hardware list screen they are seen just fine. Everything is. It's just in the gui that things don't seem to be right.

Ill grab some screenshots and upload them.

There you are.. The bogus devices are causing fake IO errors. When I open the SW Raid screen the screen where you configure and select just spins. Is there any othee way to do it besides the gui?

Did my post with the screenshots make it to the forum? It looked like it had but then there was nothing here. Short messages always seem to make it though.
