Open Memcached Port 8365 -> Security Bug ?

I've got an abuse message because of an open Memcached Port on our Cluster, with DSSv7 up12. Usually memcached is bind only to localhost, so ... what is the reason for that one? Is that because of a cluster configuration? We closed the port on the outside, but ... there must be a better way ...

any suggestions?
