Thread: Can't select write-back option for iSCSI

  1. #1

Default Can't select write-back option for iSCSI

I try to create new iSCSI target, but in Access mode drop-box no option write-back there are only Write-through and Read-only.
    I need set write-back.

moreover, all the old iSCSI targets are now have access mode = write -through, although I remember that i set up the write-back mode.

What happens with my DSS 7 ?

You can only set write-back for fileIO volumes.

In later version of the DSS V7 the Write Back function was taken off for iSCSI Volumes that where in Block IO mode, only iSCSI Volumes created in File IO mode will allow you to use the Write Back mode settings. Also you cannot use the File IO Volumes with Failover.

But in my DSS 6 i see checked check box WB on all Block iSCSI targets. Very interesting... is the cache working for block-iscsi targets in dss6 ?

You stated that you had DSS V7. With DSS V6 we have as well but the caching is not for Block IO.
