    Default web interface unreachable

    Hello,

We have problems with our NASes, so I wanted to upgrade them to a newer version.
Here is our actual setup :
NAS2 is master and NAS1 is replicating it via Volume replication.
We have 5 POP mail servers on linux (centos 5.4) mounting the NAS2 via NFS.
The performances are really slow since a few weeks.

The NAS2 has load of 60 (!) during the day (seen on /check_sys/127.0.0.1-load.html page).

Our NASes have Version: 5.0.DB49000000.3278 since a year now, and we didn't see a point in upgrading them because everything was working fine since a few weeks.

Since we have bad performances, I wanted to upgrade to version Open-E DSS update ver. 5.00 up62 zip build 3518 (I already downloaded it).
But I realized that I cannot access the webinterface of NAS1 anymore.
I tried to reboot it, with no luck (but the volume replication starts again fine after reboot, so the machine actually runs fine).

We have 2 IP addresses on each NAS :
    - 1st IP is on a private range (192.168.0.0/24) and is only accessible from the POPs
    - 2nd IP address is behind our firewall

I tried to reach the NAS1 via the 2 different IP addresses it has, with http and https... nothing worked. Strange stuff is that if I do an nmap on both IPs I see the port 80 open...

Could you help me with that ?

    Thanks !

Can you reach the GUI with another system with Firefox?

If the system has been performing poorly in the last few weeks there might be some hardware or RAID issue. Try to go to the Console tools then select the modify time and take the defaults once done check to see if you can access the GUI again with Firefox.
    All the best,

I can access it with firefox but not with IE, never had that error on other websites, thanks for helping me with that.

can we monitor the temperature of the NAS ?
I want to know if it's too hot for it or not.

It's because of a certificate issue, try to remove them then reconnect again.

To see the system temp. enable this from the Console screen - CTRL ALT W then you will have to test LM Sensors or others in the Hardware options. Then you can view them in
STATUS -> hardware -> Function: Hardware monitoring.

If you can reach the nas from another, then try clearing the cache in IE of the system that cannot reach the nas.

did you try to create a new certificate?

I recreated a new certificate, I deleted the certificate that was stored in my IE, and I could access it again

    thanks

    ok thanks, I'll try that

is it risky to do the update I want to try ?

I wanted to try first on the backup NAS to upgrade.
see if everything is ok (except replication, because I need to stop it)

and then upgrade the master NAS (so I have a better idea of the update procedure and how much time it takes).

but I REALLY don't want to loose data, and to be during 6 hours without the NAS working either...
