Default Adding space to an existing HW RAID unit/resize - Standard Procedure?

    Hello,

We added drive space to our HP array on DSS and used the ACU CLI to resize the logical drive. Upon completion of the resize process on the HP array, a unit rescan of the drives in DSS now shows the expanded logical drive as "unsupported".

I rebooted the DSS box and now the unit available and has the new size but the volume manager shows the old size.
Using the extended tools, a PV Resize was performed and everything appears to be in order now.

Is this the standard procedure when adding space to an existing HW RAID array logical drive or did I miss something that may enable this to be performed without a reboot?

    Thanks,
    Tim

Add space to RAID, use PV_resize, then rescan in volume manager, your done!

Ahh, then my mistake was performing a rescan before the PV_resize, as that is what took the unit offline and put it in an "unsupported" state, correct?
