Default Experience Live Failover for maintenance...

    Hello all...

We have an healthy active/active Cluster that is now in active/passive mode that we need to upgrade the firmware card on and after 297 days uptime want to reboot the primary node (secundary allready rebooted).

There are about 40 vm's on 4 targets (active active 2 x 2) that need to keep on running...

Can i safely do a failover from the active node to the failover node? What are your experiences?

Or will it be much better to bring down all vm's (thats what we always did) and failover and start them again? We dont want to do that seen the mission critical vm's and the time needed...

So basically is the question: is failover always working as expected for you all?

    Thanks!

    Arjan

If both nodes are the same version DSS, you should have no problem manually failing over.

Hello, we did the failover once and one to make it active active again and we can confirm all works as expected :-)
