    Default Upgrading DSS6 to 7

We have a single DSS6 server (no cluster), that's exporting a few volumes to vSphere 5 over iSCSI.

We are planning to upgrade this system to DSS7, but I'm trying to find out what the exact process is for this? Is there a supported upgrade path? If so, what are the steps?

I know there will be downtime, that's not the issue, it's the upgrade process itself that I need to know more information about.

    Thanks

Be sure to be on the most recent DSS V6 build first.
Upload the DSS V7 ISO and reboot to it. Then add your new DSS V7 key and reboot again.
    Done.

Cool. Ok, sounds easy enough. We just need to buy a new DSS7 license with the same licensed capacity I guess then.

You can do this on your User Portal on our website to upgrade for the capacity that you have.
    All the best,

Is it possible to try it first for 60 days or is the V7 key mandatory?

We currently own a V6 cluster and are evaluating the possible upgrade pathes. Complete new hardware or upgrade (new HDDs, more RAM) the existing one.

Upgrading a current DSS V6 to DSS V7 will not be able to be in trial mode.
To use trial mode, you will need to install to new hardware.
