Thanks, I downloaded, rebooted, reapplied update for check_mk and rebooted again.

I'm still getting CLI/API: method not found.

Are you using a LSI controller? Try the API command > get_raidstatus
This returns information about RAID.

Yes that returns same as hpacucli ctrl all show config detail

So my command is sound, the key works fine and I have no firewall issues.

So even though the check_mk tool appears as an installed tool is there an issue with it.

make sure you use latest release of DSS and latest release of check_mk Small Update (2014-09-09, upd_70139c-DSS-V7-up12.upd).
