    Default Stability problem

    Hi,

we have some stability problems with our DSS system. After several hours (2-72h) the system freeze. No keyboard inputs possible, no blinking cursor, no response to ICMP echo (ping).

We have tested the system over one week with memtest without any error. After booting DSS with ACPI activated (BIOS and DSS boot parameter) the system runs about 2-24h. After deactivating ACPI (+APM and IOAPIC) in BIOS and DSS (boot parameter) the system runs a bit longer (about 1-3 days) but also freeze.

We have tried the 32-Bit and 64-Bit MP Kernel, but no better result.

Here some informations about the system:

    Tyan K8HM (S3892) Motherboard
    2x2,4 GHz DualCore Opteron
    Serverworks Chipset
    4 GB RAM
    BIOS 14.6.2007 V1.0.6 / Ami Bios 08.00.11
    IPMI Card
    Areca 1280 PCIe RAID Controller
    2xIntel Quad GBit Ethernet (PCIX)

    Any suggestion?

    So long
    Michael

    Default

    Hi Michael,

Try downloading new version of DSS ver. 1.23. I have seen your email to support, any way we can get logs sent us or me. I am hoping that after re-flashing system we will be able to download the log file. I have seen where power and Memory (RAM) issues will cause this from the motherboard.
    All the best,

    Todd Maxwell
