Thread: APIC question

  1. #1

    Post APIC question

Is there a way to disable APIC in the kernel?

We are having issues with our newly built system using 3ware 9650se and drives seem to dissappear at random. 3ware tech support recommends that I disable APIC to see if that helps. looking through DMESG it looks like its on by default.

    TIA,

    Default

This is strange had another customer with Areca 1170 with nearly same issue, let me know if this works for your case after tuning off IO-APIC.

Go to Console Tools CRTL + ALT + T selected Boot Option then Boot Parameters and turned off the IO- APIC option and others. Restarted the system.
    All the best,

    Todd Maxwell
