Unhappy bizzare Korean character with FTP

    Hi.

I'm a newbie and trying to familiar with it.

I had a few problems and I'm solving them with the help of this forum.

Still I have a big problem that every files with Korean character uploaded showed bizarre shape.

When I upload files with CFIS, then they can be read with CFIS but not in FTP
because the name and directory of files shows bizzare characters.

Vice versa when I upload file with FTP, then thy can be read with FTP but not in CFIS
because the name and directory of files shows bizzare characters.

I tried 3 FTP programs and they showed same phenomenon.

Is there any way to solve this problem?

Thank you and hope for an answer.

It could be that we do not support Korean characters or others as noted in the manual (* : " | < > ? / \ ` # $ & ( ) + ; ' .). Does this happen when you use normal English characters if not then please use to correct this issue.

It's not the answer that I want to receive.

In your manual there is no chapter to notice that the file name must not have special character.

And my question is why the special character of file names and directory names are seen right in CFIS but not in FTP (or vice versa).

If I may be not wrong, Korean character problem is not the problem of special character but of 2 byte character. And I think that there is a bug or unsupportness of 2 byte characters in your program dealing with FTP of NFS.

Would you please give me some right answer?

Again what are the Korean characters that you used or stated that you are using as previously asked from last response?? Also have you received any errors from the log files? We need additional information as to what special character you are using. We have some limitations on using special characters until future releases like "@, :, &, $ and _",. In new release of DSS for 1.30 the use for "$" on shares will be added.

Also did you test without special characters as previously asked- and what are your results?? Send logs to support after doing this to show the difference. Just to say it is a bug is easy for any one but to perform verification helps all.

I did not use any special characters you have mentioned.
    I'm using ordinary Korean characters.
The names of files and directorys with Korean are well seen and no problem with CFIS.
The files uploaded with CFIS are seen like bizarre characters and cannot be accessed with FTP.
When the files were uploaded with FTP, they looked OK and no problem with FTP.

    The followings are example.

    1) rightly seen with FTP when uploaded with FTP
    192.168.0.23 UNKNOWN admin [05/Aug/2007:19:19:26 +0900] "STOR 스킨케어셋트.txt" 226 6386

    2) abnormaly seen with FTP when uploaded with CFIS

    I finally solved the problem.

The problem may arise from UTF-8 code.

Most FTP prgram cannot deals properly but Filezilla deals with it properly.

Anyway I'm sorry to have bothered you.

    Thank you.
