Thread: support for highpoint and areca

Default support for highpoint and areca

Can you tell me if you support (now or soon) the HighPoint RocketRAID 2320?

Also do you support the hardware RAID functions from within the iSCSI control panel (so without any added software from Highpoint or Areca)?

Both controllers give diagnostic information like harddisk temperature. Is this information also available in the iSCSI control panel or another way?

    Default Support for ROCKETRAID

Yes soon we will have support for the following ROCKETRAID 3220, 3320, 2240 versions for iSCSI and NAS-XSR products. Please check the link below when this is officially supported. Additionally, if the ROCKETRAID has a management feature to allow us to perform this in our control panel then there is a good chance this will be implemented. We provide
S.M.A.R.T functions to view many different status levels on the drives including temperature readings in Celsius and a full S.M.A.R.T tests to perform. I encourage you to test this by downloading or iSCSI Enterprise Demo-CD version as well to view all functions.

    Hi there,

according to the list, HighPoint RocketRaid 2320 seems not supported?

You are correct until they are listed and and approved on the website.

    Hi Tom,

how about RocketRAID 2220 - which is the 8-channel version of 2240? Since 2240 is supported, 2220 should be supported as well ya?

Sorry for not getting back to you on your answer. We currently do not support HighPoint RocketRaid 2320, because drivers are not GPL, but as soon as they release the GPL driver we will try to implement it.

Unfortionalty the GPL drivers have not yet been released for the 2220. As soon as Open-E receives this we will implement them on our list. We don't make the drivers for this so this will be difficult for us to predict a time frame.
    All the best,
