Default Replacing the network card on DSS V7 cluster servers

    Hello.
We have a cluster of two Supermicro servers.
    Installed on each server
    Model: Data Storage Software V7
    Version: 7.0up65.9101.26898 64bit
    Release date: 2018-02-12
    Updates: N/A
    License keys: N/A
    S/N1: A0053702 S/N2: A0053703
    Licensed Storage Capacity: 16 TB

Each server has a network card:
10 Gigabit CX4 Dual Port Server Adapter (EXPX9502CX4)
    PCI Express 2.0 8x
    2x 10Gbps ports (CX4 connector)
It is necessary to replace these network cards with other cards that support the SFP interface
Question1: Will we lose our license?
Question 2: Does DSS V7 recognize PCIe cards with an SFP interface?

No you will NOT lose your license when doing this.
I think if you update to the latest release you will be ok as the PCIe cards should work and the SFP as well.
    All the best,

    Todd Maxwell

But how to update to latest release and then reactivate DSSv7.0up75, if activation service doesn't work any more? Will go with manual activation?

If you wish to update to DSSv7 up75 you need to have a valid support contract purchased. Without it, the latest you can update is DSSv7 up71.
Also, please keep in mind that starting November 2024 DSSv7 reached it End-Of-Live (EOL) state.
