    Default error message

    Hi.

I met a system halt and HDD failure notice with the following messages.
The exact HDD was healthy in another computer.
Would you tell me what was the cause of system hault?

Was this on a Software RAID or Hardware RAID? I have seen this in the past where a cable or connection is lose to cause errors, is this error still happening?

Try reseating everything back and re-flash the DSS (new 1.30 is out on Monday) and let me know if this happens again.
    All the best,

    Hi.

    I'm using 3ware 9650SE hardware raid card.
The manager program showed degradation of one of the hard disks.
I tried once again, but there also came error again.
And the RAM was very hot, so I ordered new RAM with heat-sink.
By the way I cannot find new DSS.
The update page still showes only 1.3 version.

    Thank you for your concerning.

DSS should be today or within next 2 - or you can go to the FTP site and access the pre-release of 1.30 in Engineering_phase directory. I have heard the that there is an issue with RAID 6 (if you are using a RAID 6) with this 9650SE controller. Review the link below to see if this could be contributing to your issue.

aka update your 3ware firmware to the 005 version!

the only problem i have had with the 9650se is that when rebooting the staggered spinup causes drives to not get inserted into the raid. disable staggered spinup and NCQ if you still have problems possibly.

    Hi.

It seems that the problem was not from 3ware bios or DSS itself.

I found that the memory was very hot so I changed RAM with other RAM with some good heatsink. Thereafter there is no more problem at all.

Thank everyone and also to To-M and netsyphon.
