    Default LDAP Authentication (multiple servers)

    Is there a way to set the NAS to use more than one ldap server for redundancy? Normally I would add them with a space or comma delimiter, but the form validation does not like either of those.

    Any suggestions?

    Default LDAP Authentication (multiple servers)

    Dear Michael,

    We do not support multiple (redundant) ldap servers with our NAS or NAS-XSR products. This why you are not able to enter another IP Address.

    Single LDAP server information is below.

    Workgroup(external LDAP):
    In case of external LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), the NAS server will use users/groups from external LDAP server. Please fill-in all fields accordingly. In advanced setting you can set Base DN, LDAP administrator DN (Distinguished Name) and LDAP administrator password. Base DN should looks like "dc=server,dc=nas"(DC - Domain Component), where "server" and "nas" can be set as they are set on remote LDAP server. In LDAP administrator DN you should set previously entered base DN with prefix like "cn=admin," (CN - Common Name). Users should be stored in Organization Unit (ou) "People", groups in "Groups", adn computers in "Computers".

    This is unfortunate.

    Will the ldap work with FQDN? If so, perhaps I can r ound-robin the host for ldap from dns.

    Are there plans to allow for multiple authentication servers?

    Sorry to say, currently there has been little request for this, perhaps in the near future we will investigate this to see if this can be implemented (no set date as of yet). Please let us know how your testing of the round robin has resulted; this would be very interesting to share with the group.
