I want to install a NAS Enterprise on a So370 mainboard with 6 onboard IDE-ports. These are connected by a "normal" controller, not by a raid controller.
My question:
Do I really need a raid controller for NAS Enterprise?
Isn't there a possibility to use normal disks? I don't need the features of a raid system.
Yes you can use the IDE ports, then use our Software RAID tool to create a RAID set to be available for a Volume Group. You don't have to use a RAID controller if you are not looking for speed and expanding your RAID set.
