Also would like to see VSS for iSCSI, planning to use this with DPM 2010.

If you want to PM me, I tell you my findings in trying to solve this problem. After 2 years from the first date in this tread, it is still not solved. I gave up and went elsewhere. I will happily point you to competitors that meet your needs.

You can do it with the API, and offloading

use the OFFLOAD process with V6

Can you elaborate? We are running Hyper-V Cluster and want to backup using DPM2010.

In replacement of the VSS please use this link below w/ Snapshot.

    Hi Todd,

THanks for that information, unfortunately remote snapshot control isn't really what I'm looking for.

With DPM 2010 and a VSS provider I can take simutanious snapshots of my individual hyper-v VMs from my cluster which are stored on my DPM 2010 storage array. This allows for restoring into different environment and item level recovery.

As DPM 2010 is our backup solution the lack of a VSS provider is still causing us to limit our backups to serial and using redirected access for storage access which causes performance issues across all VMs whilst any backup is in progress.

Is a VSS provider still a possibility?

    Thanks,
    Jon

Sorry but we wont have a VSS provider, though Acronis might have a product that would be good here from what others have informed me.
    All the best,

Yes, Acronis backup software can work in this case.
