    Default VSS provider in DSS?

    Hi,

Are there any plans to implement a VSS provider in the DSS product for NAS and iSCSI in Windows environments?

    My goals are twofold:

    1) To allow users to use the Shadow Copy client to access snaps (as they do with my NTAP filers).

    2) To allow me to back up exchange (on iSCSI) using the VSS provider to create snapshots before backing up.

Any information you have on either of these features would be helpful.

    Thanks,
    Tony.

To be honest this is the first request I had on this subject. The only problem is we will need more people asking for this before our R&D will enter it in for review. I will ask them as I like this idea, but could take some time. Thanks!

It is a very nice feature and every customer where i install this on his Windows 2003 server, or activated it on a CIFS Share on a NetApp Filer, can't believe that this isn't build in/activated per default.

On a NetWare File-Server users see all the time only on what they had the rights....

    Best regards
    Stefan
