Default DSS 4GB Fibre Version 1.37

Can you please tell me if the in fibre channel target manager groups work now, we have been waiting months for this to get fixed so we can use the FC 4GB cards. We are now seeing errors on our DSS servers (version 1.21.DB00000000.2722) but cant update unless the FC groups have been fixed. The errors we are getting are

    Nov 23 23:19:37 dss kernel: cmnd_abort(1163) 3ff04c9 1 0 42 512 0 0

    Nov 23 23:19:39 dss kernel: cmnd_abort(1163) 1e9efee 1 0 42 12288 0 0

The messages are not an issue unless other hardware issues present themselves in the logs. It means that LUN was restarted because of some unrecognized or delivered too late Initiator command. When testing the 1.37 did you test with build 2922 for FC groups. If it still does not work send in logs to support we need to review the logs.

I will setup a test server and try with the latest version, the errors seems to cause us problems when doing backups sometimes given access denied errors

    Hi Todd,

Ok I have setup a test server with the latest version and it does not work with custom FC groups. I can see the luns when assigned to the default group but not when assigned to a custom FC group.

Can you tell me what logs you need as I would really like this resolved ASAP as we cannot upgrade our production servers until the LUN masking on the DSS server is working correctly.

    Thanks

    Gavin

Send the whole log file from Status > Hardware > Log. Describe the setup with the FC groups so we can diagnose the problem. The Qlogic equipment should be there mid this week so they can try to duplicate the problem and provide a solution.
