Can you tell me if you are behind a Cisco PIX firewall/router. We have had reports from others that placed the DSS LITE in a specified DMZ port and it worked.
We're using Microsoft ISA Server as firewall. Since I allowed port 10444 I can use the registration form, but the for the activation form and the forgotten password form, I still get the "cannot connect to Open-E server" error and cannot fill the forms.
Yes, I did connect the DSS Lite after the border router infront of the firewall. Activation was now successful. But it would be good to know which ports/protocols we need to open for the registration just in case case we need to reactivate it. Port 10444 is not all. It's much work to change the network physical and logical just for activation ;-)Originally Posted by To-M

I'm trying to register but can not probably because of a firewall issue. I opened port 10444 and can see ACCEPTED trafic on this port from the open-e machine to 88.198.24.38.
I can connect to 88.198.24.38 on port 10444 via telnet.
What else should I do for the registration process to work?
thanks!
I have talked with many who have multiple levels of firewalls in place or double NAT's that have been causing this issue. Is the DSS LITE behind a Cisco PIX or WatchGuard or any other device to help others or just temporary just to register place in DMZ port then remove.
I've also tried to register, which also didn't work.
static.88-198-24-38.clients.your-server.de (88.198.24.38) just sends SYN/ACK while my box tries to connect port 10444 and thats it... after a while I got "104, 'Connection reset by peer'".
I am not using NAT, the box where I try to install Open-E lite is directly connected to the Internet with own official IP.
Dont work for me... I plugged the open-e machine on the DMZ, same problem. I then tried to plug it directly on the ADSL box, same problem again... The machine can connect to the open-e server (no error message saying that my IP config or dns is incorrectly configured or 10444 port is closed) but when I try to do the user registration the machine ask me to wait... for a long long time... Any idea?Originally Posted by To-M
