I want to define a couple volumes on my DSS system that is only for NFS mounting. IF all aspects of Windows connectivity can be turned off in the GUI would be best.
Oddly enough a crummy Adaptec SNAP server has such a function. Its performance is abissmal.
NFS is usefull for my app since it is not as sensitive as iSCSI in the VMware ESX world and is easier to recovery data if a disaster occurs.
What happens when you remove the 'Visible' check from the SMB Settings in the NFS share that you're looking to create? For mine it hides the share from the Windows machines on my network and the NFS share still works good.
