Thread: Adaptec RAID Array

    Default Adaptec RAID Array

I have an older RAID card that I'm using for secondary storage in the open-e. It's one of those Adaptec I2O cards that's built onto the motherboard.

Anyway, Open-E recognizes the card and I've been using it for some time now. However, one of the drives failed (RAID 5) and there was no indication anywhere.

Is there a way for a failed drive in the RAID array to show up in the logs or the error console or (best) an email sent?

I can see that the drive is failed in the RAID CLI interface from the console but that's the only place.

    Thanks,
    Ryan

Your RAID controller is the place where you get those errors.. Also, your hardware should make some noise on a faild drive..

Open-e logs also shows RAID issues...
