Exclamation ClamAV Update doesn't work any more

    Hi,

the automatic ClamAv updates doesn't work any more. All worked fine for months but now since few weeks there are always update errors.

I can exclude network problems as open-e dss upadetes can be downloaded from the GUI. Also I can send out testmails.

I also tried at least 10 different ClamAV update servers. No change.

The last workling upadte was on Feruary 21st, 2008:

    Code:
ClamAV update process started at Thu Feb 21 00:00:02 2008

    There were already two warnings:
WARNING: Your ClamAV installation is OUTDATED!

How Can I update the ClamAV?

The current logs look as follows:

It seems that the server had too many connections with an outdated version of ClamAV and now the update servers does not allow any updates until the ClamAV Engine is updated. But how can I do that? Any suggestions?!

Are your DNS and Gateway working? Can you ping from the CTRTL + ALT + T (Console Tools)

As mentioned above: "I can exclude network problems as open-e dss updqtes can be downloaded from the GUI. Also I can send out testmails." Ping is also possible. The Problem is with ClamAv. See the second log file:

I just tested with DSS 5.0_44 (gateway/DNS set properly) and tested with a ping to switch.clamav.net. Then applied the update for the "now" interval and was able to update with the latest Build date : 2008.04.01.

Try resetting the Antivirus setup again in the NAS settings - disable it and then re-enable it again and test to see if it kicks off.
    All the best,

    Hi Todd,

I'm using the 5.0.DB42000000.3007 version. And the funny thing is that it all worked fine already in the past. I can also ping swith.clamav.net

Is there any chance to manual update the ClaimAV engine? Or should I just install the newest DSS version?

    regards

You can try updating to the latest 5.0_44 to see if this is the cause of the outdated version it is crying about. Also try the Demo-CD version of DSS and test on another system.
