Thread: infiniband

    Default infiniband

    Hi there,
we are going to build a pilot project for a customer and would like to use DSS.
    Scenario is as follows:
2 ESX 3.5 on Supermicro with IB card 4x DDR - 1 Storage Box with Mellanox IB Card 4x DDR
1 Flextronics IB switch managed (no subnet manager)

    Questions:

    1) Subnet manager: does DSS support subnet manager ?
    2) IB access: is access via RDMA supported in DSS ? (no iSCSI over IB)
    3) Mellanox cards: their are not in the HCL; nevertheless their make the chips for all other vendors. Should it work ?
    4) Could you support us on this ? (our aim is to build a reference platform as OEM and then place it on the market); we could sign an OEM agreement.
    5) Any other "suggestions" ?

    Thanks in advance.

    6) Does the LITE version support Infiniband (to test) ?
    7) If RDMA mode if supported, do you have some benchmarks ?

    Default

Sorry to say we currently do not have support for RDMA and we only support IP over IB.
We do not have the Mellanox in our labs though others have reported it to work by switching to latest kernel verison on our Boot Options from Console Tools. They had the MHGS18-XTC series but no tests results on performences.

    Default Plans for Infiniband support

Are there plans to support Infiniband with things such as SRP target and NFS-RDMA?

    Thanks

There are plans to support it, but we currently do not have an ETA.
