    Question SMART disabled

    Hi All... I am a newbie to Open-E so please bear with me!

    This question has probably been asked before but...
    I have raid running open-e XSR and I have followed the details regarding enabling the SMART monitoring in Hardware Configuration... which I have done.

    However, when I go back into the web admin page it now says that:
    Unit So SMART Disabled

    Does this mean that although monitoring is on, the unit does not allow for SMART monitoring?

    The raid controller is a areca 1170.

    I am not XSR expert... but make sure its updated to the latest version...

    Can you set it from the Areca?
