Thread: One Volume multiple targets

  1. #1

    Question One Volume multiple targets

    We have installed and tested our RAID5 Celeros EZ-San and found several issues
    that require that we rebuild it.

    Multiple servers had mounted the same targets, and corrupted the data.
    (it was treated it like a NAS)

    I am only finding information in the manual that outlines single volume single target
    multiple tvg examples.

    i wish to use a more dedicated layout such as

    Volume 0
    -> target1 HostA
    tvg0 -> 40gb
    tvg1 -> 40gb
    tvg2 -> 40gb
    -> target2 HostB
    tvg0 -> 60gb
    -> target3 HostC
    tvg0 -> 60gb
    -> target4 HostX
    tvg0 -> 60gb

    am I understanding the technology correctly?

    Yes your configuration can work as you have below. You can organize your Target Volumes in many ways. You can create a target by assigning a name or leave the "Target Default Name" option checked.

    Volume 0
    -> target1 HostA
    tvg0 -> 40gb
    tvg1 -> 40gb
    tvg2 -> 40gb
    -> target2 HostB
    tvg0 -> 60gb
    -> target3 HostC
    tvg0 -> 60gb
    -> target4 HostX
    tvg0 -> 60gb
    All the best,
