Transfer Data on tapes (autoloader)

Our customer have two isolated locations (without any links between). They need to transfer data from one location to another. the possibility is only one - manualy transfer tape cartridges.
Does DSS confirm and restore backup created on different location/tape autoloader?
What happened if volume size bigger than volume one tape cartridge?

This may not work as moving tapes from one system to another DSS may not see the backup task from the first system so it will not be able to restore.

I had tried this in the past with dynamic volumes. I would bakup files to a removable hard disk and move it to another system but the new system did not reconize the backup task.

I finally did this attached an external drive to my local machine. copying files from dss to external drive and than moving exernal drive to other machine and then copy back.
