NFS File Locking was fixed in release 5_0_up46_build_3088.
We only support NFS ver. 2 & 3.

Do you have "Insecure locks" enabled or disabled?

Sorry to jump in on this thread - we're running DSS (currently 5.0.DB47000000.3216), but I assume the NFS code is either the same or at least from the same code base.

We see this problem, too. We're using openSuSE 11.0 clients, both Mozilla Firefox 3.0 (using SQLite DBs with file locking) and Eclipse won't work on NFS-based home directories mounted from the DSS NFS server.

We see no different behaviour even if I set the "insecure locks" flag for the shares.
