CLAM does't update itself and doesn't use quarantine dir
Hi,
I have the latest version of XSR enterprise installed.
2 problems with CLAM
1. CLAM is running, but it doesnt' update (Patterns) itself automatically.
Update-Setup: NOW and every 1 hour
2. I have defined an extra share, called Virus_quarantine.
This shares is selected in use quaratine select box. Move to quarantine is
selected in Antivirus Online
But CLAM is putting the infected files in a dir called quarantine_dir in the top level of
each share.
I want that infected files from all shares are collected in one extra share.
I want to separte infected files from the shares. This should happen for
Online Scanning mode and on the scheduled mode.
How to setup this ?
It seems that there is a bug for issue 1 and 2, because CLAM is not behaving like
we set it up in the maint. antivirus screen.
Once you update the "Update virus definitions" you should have the "Last update with date" to verify the update (make sure your time settings for the NTP is properly set for your Time Zone). Also have set for mirrored site xarch.clamav.net and verified the DNS and Gateway – tested with ping.
I created the same share names and was able to have this perform with out even seeing the quarantine_dir. Here is what I did.
1) Create the virus_quarantine share name
2) Create another share name test place random files
3) Verified that shares are visible and Guest
4) Selected Use Antivirus & Use quarantine then selected the share
name “virus_quarantine”
5) Selected switch.clamav.net / Now and every 1 hour – applied (Confirmed with
Last update 2006.09.24) . Veriefied thru log files on the next hour.
6) Selected the Antivirus scan of the shares (Available – Chosen) – Interval: 1
min. time period applied this to my share name directory
7) Enabled SMB protocol scanning (Antivirus online) No Action (no need to set this
to move as I have previously selected my quarantine to the share
name “virus_quarantine”
This one has always bugged me and I am hoping for an update to fix this as well. I know I had stated this before Mathieu in our previous discussions but I have tested this with R-3 and it works fine. Something to think about, have you downloaded DSS? The NAS R-3 Enterprise is built on the DSS engine. I will add another request for the CLAM update issue to our software engineers.
Thanks!
